Eamonn Holmes branded Holly Willoughby 'false' and accused of stabbing Phillip Schofield 'in the back' as he made his first TV appearance since Phillip Schofield's departure from This Morning.
After speculation that his 20 years at the helm of the ITV daytime programme could be coming to an end, amid rumours of a feud with Holly, Phillip took to Instagram on Saturday afternoon to announce that he'd left This Morning, saying he recognised that 'This Morning had become the story' and appreciated ITV's stance that the situation 'couldn't go on.'
Phillip assured fans that he would be back non TV to host the upcoming British Soap Awards, as ITV confirmed plans for him to front another primetime series and, by Monday morning, his This Morning exit was still a hot topic on TV news channels.
Having given a rather cryptic reaction to Phillip's news on Saturday, taking to Twitter to say it had 'been a good day,' Eamonn was much more forthcoming with his opinions on his former This Morning colleague and Holly, as he fronted Monday's GB News breakfast bulletin.

And it was Holly that Eamonn really put the boot into, when he blasted: "She says 'oh the couch won't feel the same without him being there,' well she wanted him not there, so what's she moaning about the couch not feeling the same for? I mean, they deserve each other, I suppose."
Taking further aim at Holly and the statement she put out after Phillip confirmed he was leaving This Morning, Eamonn added: ""Holly is being as false as he is and nobody is talking about the elephant in the room. She says “I thank him for all his knowledge, experience and humour”. All the things that she didn’t have when she came to the show. Well it’s true! I would call that stabbing in the back."
Then, after studio guest Dawn Neesom highlighted how Phillip had apparently been 'rude' to Eamonn's wife, Ruth Langsford on air, Eamonn replied: "I could give you a list of the lack of kindness and lack of awareness from both of them. How they would socialise, and the people around them. You just have to look at my phone, full of people who are glad to see the back of the two of them."
Last week, as rumours of a feud between Phillip and Holly intensidied, Eamonn accused the pair of 'faking' their chemistry for TV and said they should have won a special acting award at the BAFTAs.
