Eamonn Holmes brands Phillip Schofield a 'coercive controller' in ANOTHER This Morning attack

Eamonn Holmes has furiously hit out at his former This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield once again after Phillip confirmed he had an "unwise" but "not illegal" affair with a younger colleague.

The GB News breakfast host lashed out at Phillip on Twitter after coming under fire following the promotion of an interview with Eamonn and Dan Wootton about the This Morning crisis.

Dan tweeted: "Eamonn Holmes reveals the real story about Phillip Schofield, his young staff member lover, ITV ’s cover up and toxic This Morning in his ONLY interview."

One angry fan commented: "Does Eamonn have a new book out soon? Or bitter after being binned off This Morning for a younger crew?"

Hitting back, Eamonn replied: "Just telling the truth in the face of a coercive controller."

Another viewer questioned: "So if you knew all about this, why did you just stand by all this time and do nothing? Just as complicit," to which Eamonn answered: "But I didn't know. I've never said I knew."

Eamonn told fans he planned to speak out in an interview with Dan Wootton (GB News)

Eamonn later tweeted: "A lie unchallenged becomes the Truth ...... not on my watch it doesn't Pip. Tonight is for all my workmates over the years who were frightened and ignored by you and your controlling , coercive behaviour. All you who no one listened to. I'm here for you."

A spokesperson for Phillip declined to comment when contacted by the Mirror.

Phillip broke his silence following his revelation about his affair and subsequent decision to part ways with ITV and his management company to hit back at claims This Morning had a "toxic" environment.

He spoke out a day after Dr Ranj blasted This Morning after admitting he thought "long and hard" about opening up on his own experience as a contributor on the ITV programme.

Phillip said: "Now I no longer work on this morning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me all the show who seem to have the loudest voice. This Morning is the best show to work on with the best people. In all the years I worked there, there was no toxicity.

"You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew hundreds of presenters and contributors all now. It is a family of wonderful talented, kind hard-working people."

Eamonn wasted no time in hitting out at the statement and tweeted: "Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hrs. I'm reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip if u r looking for a fight , u have picked on the wrong person!"

Phillip and Eamonn previously worked together on This Morning before Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

In 2019, Ruth filed an official complaint against Schofield after being cut off mid-link by the presenter as she was explaining what was coming up on the show during a mini-segment on This Morning.
