In Pat Flanagan’s column on Friday, April 29, it was incorrectly stated the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications Eamon Ryan had approved planning permission for Amazon's new data centre in Meath.

In fact, planning permission for the data centre was granted by An Bord Pleanala, in a process entirely independent of the Government. We apologise to Minister Ryan and we are happy to correct the position.
