A young woman who killed her mother after stabbing her more than 30 times has denied murder.

Aziza Bennis, 58, a school dinner lady, was repeatedly stabbed in her house in Boddington Gardens in Ealing last August.

Hanna Bennis, 21, who is charged with murder, appeared at the Old Bailey for a plea hearing on Monday.

She denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.

The defendant, from Ealing, faces a two-week trial at the Old Bailey from July 31.

Police had to force entry to the property in Boddington Gardens after reports of screaming.

The victim was found lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds.

A post-mortem examination found Ms Bennis had more than 30 stab wounds, with a fatal injury to her right thigh.
