Eagles wallop error-prone Commanders to gain Super Bowl 59

The Washington Commanders had to be near perfect to stay with the Philade4lphia Eagles. They weren’t on Sunday at the Linc and that meant the NFC East champs rolled to victory and a spot in Super Bowl 59.

Saquon Barkley scored on the Eagles’ first play from scrimmage and added two more touchdowns as Philadelphia rolled to a 55-23 victory over the Commanders.

The Eagles will play either the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59 next month in the Superdome in New Orleans.

The Eagles scored seven rushing touchdowns, equaling a mark by the Bears in 1940. That game was also against a Washington team when Chicago won the NFL championship, 73-0.

The Eagles forced four turnovers as Washington lost three fumbles and Jayden Daniels threw one interception. They also had three sacks.

Barkley had 118 rushing yards. Will Shipley came in and added 77 more after Kenneth Gainwel went out with a concussion.l

The Eagles scored in every quarter and blew the game open with 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
