Eagles vs. Chiefs initial Super Bowl LIX injury report

The Eagles and Chiefs released their initial injury report for Super Bowl LIX, with both teams having star players with designations ahead of next Sunday’s finale for the Lombardi Trophy.

Neither team practiced Wednesday, with Kansas City and Philadelphia releasing injury estimations.

For Philadelphia, RB Saquon Barkley (rest), WR AJ Brown (rest), G Landon Dickerson (knee), RB Kenny Gainwell (concussion/knee), TE Dallas Goedert (rest/ankle), C Cam Jurgens (back), DT Moro Ojomo (shoulder), WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring), and T/G Brett Toth (knee) all would have missed practice.

Eagles WR Britain Covey (neck), would have been a full participant.

The Chiefs put out their estimated practice report for Wednesday for Kansas City, with five players listed. All five were estimated as full participants.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes remains on the report with his lingering ankle injury. Mahomes has been listed on the report every week since Week 16 after he sprained his right ankle against the Browns in a December 15 game.

He has remained a full participant, though, in the entire postseason.

Safety Bryan Cook (quad), running back Kareem Hunt (quad), offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor (knee), and cornerback Jaylen Watson (ankle) are the other Chiefs on the report as full participants.

Both teams will likely have practice sessions on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before departing for New Orleans on Sunday one hour apart.
