You might be crying like Jason Kelce did during most of his retirement speech after you hear what he did.
Philadelphia Eagles trainer Joe O’Pella has been part of the team’s athletic training staff for 16 years, which means he’s been a huge part of Kelce’s Hall of Fame career. In a private Instagram post, he shared a story about how he was diagnosed with cancer and that Kelce checked on him and offered to help him out.

And when Kelce played his final game in Tampa Bay, O’Pella couldn’t be there to tape up Kelce’s ankles as he’s always done.
Here’s what happened next:
I taped this guy’s ankles and thumbs everyday for 13 seasons, and when he played his last game in Tampa, again I couldn’t be there due to cancer. And when he told me he would be retiring and I expressed my regret of not being the last person to ever tape him, he offered to have me tape him for his retirement press conference. That’s who he is. And I hope these stories can add to an already unbelievable legacy.
Beautiful and so classy.

But because of his own chemotherapy treatments, he missed Kelce’s last NFL game.
