The Eagles will have an opportunity to open the 2022 NFL regular season on a positive note, as The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane is reporting that Philadelphia will open up on the road at the Detroit Lions.
The Eagles and Lions met in 2021 on Halloween, as Philadelphia’s two-headed rushing attack of Boston Scott and Jordan Howard accounted for four touchdowns on the ground, helping the Birds dominate Detroit in a 44-6 win, that helped the team start to establish identity.
McLane is also reporting that the Eagles will face the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve for the first time since 2011. The NFL will only play three games on Christmas Sunday, which will be Week 16 of the regular season.
