Eagles to honor survivors, victims of gun violence with orange practice shirts during OTAs

Gun violence has increased nationally during the past year and Philadelphia is among the cities struggling to find a solution to the senseless killings and tragic loss suffered by so many families.

Hoping to do their part on and off the field, the Eagles announced that they’ll wear orange practices shirts to honor survivors and victims of gun violence during their OTA session on Friday.

orange-themed practice shirts that will be listed on NFL Auction, and proceeds will benefit Mothers In Charge and Frontline Dads. Both organizations have previously received grant funding through the Eagles Social Justice Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation.

Wear orange was started to honor Hadiya Pendleton, who was shot and killed on a Chicago playground on January 29, 2013, one week after marching in President Barack Obama’s second inaugural parade.
