Eagles to face Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX

It’s not necessarily a rematch, but Jalen Hurts will get another shot at Patrick Mahomes, and the field conditions or quality of turf won’t be an issue at the Caesars Superdome in Louisiana.

Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans is set and it’ll be the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles facing off against the AFC Champion on Sunday February 9 at 6:30 PM EST.

Patrick Mahomes was 18-26 passing for 245 yards (9.1 avg) and one touchdown along with a 111,9 quarterback rating as Kansas City advanced to their third straight Super Bowl and fifth in the last six years with a 32-29 win over Buffalo in the AFC Championship game.

Kareem Hunt had 17 carries for 64 yards (3.8 avg) and one touchdown, while Mahomes had 11 carries for 43 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy had six catches for 85 yards and one touchdown, while Juju Smith-Schuster had two catches for 60 yards.

For Buffalo, Josh Allen was 22 of 34 passing for 237 yards, two touchdowns, and a 104.7 quarterback rating. Bills running back James Cook had 13 carries for 85 yards rushing and two touchdowns, along with three catches for 49 yards.

Philadelphia advanced to the Super Bowl with a 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley each had 3 rushing touchdowns, while the Eagles defense forced three turnovers.

Super Bowl 59 will be a rematch of Kansas City’s 38-35 win over Philadelphia in Super Bowl 57. In that game, a fantastic contest was marred by a controversial holding penalty called on Eagles cornerback James Bradberry that gave the Chiefs a chance to run the clock down and kick a 27-yard game-winning field goal with eight seconds left, which Harrison Butker promptly made.

Regular season MVP Patrick Mahomes also took home the Super Bowl LVII MVP after he finished 21 of 27 for 182 yards with three touchdowns. Kansas City scored a touchdown on its first three drives of the second half after trailing at halftime 24-14.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was 27 of 37 for 304 yards passing while also rushing for three touchdowns (15 carries, 70 yards) and tied the game at 35 on a two-point conversion with about five minutes left.

Hurts broke the record previously held by Steve McNair (64 in Super Bowl XXXIV) for most rushing yards by a quarterback in the Super Bowl.

Hurts didn’t get the win, but he made history and more than made the case for being the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.

The All-Pro quarterback was 27-38(71%) passing for 374 total yards, 4 total TDs, a 103.4 passer rating, and one fumble.
