Eagles shutout of PFF’s top-25 under 25 list entering 2022 NFL season

The Eagles are currently in the midst of a massive overhaul of their front office and scouting departments, and that could be due to the lack of star power currently on the roster.

Philadelphia currently has 43 players on the roster under 25 years of age, but only 11 are starters or have the potential to be Pro Bowlers in the near future.

PFF annually ranks the top players on the roster 25 or under, and the Eagles haven’t had a player come close to landing on the list since Carson Wentz during his 2017 season that saw Philadelphia win a Super Bowl and the quarterback nearly win MVP.

In 2020 and 2021, the Eagles had no players make the list, and even after adding some big names to the roster via the draft and free agency, , 2022 will be the third straight year that the Birds are shut out of the list.

49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa was No. 1 on the list, followed by Justin Herbert (Chargers), Jonathan Taylor (Colts), Tristan Wirfs (Bucs), and almost Eagles 2020 pick Justin Jefferson (Vikings) to round out the top five.

Other familiar names like Micah Parsons, Ja’Marr Chase, DK Metcalf, Chase Young, CeeDee Lamb, Tee Higgins, Patrick Surtain II, Kyle Pitts, and Trevon Diggs rounded out the top-25.

The Eagles have a nice stock of young talent now on the roster and names like Jalen Hurts, Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, A.J. Brown, Landon Dickerson, and DeVonta Smith should make the list in 2023.
