Eagles Receiver Makes His Stance on the Derrick Henry Trade Rumors Perfectly Clear

A rumor linking Derrick Henry to the Eagles picked up some steam over the weekend. The rumor indicated that Philadelphia was finalizing a deal to acquire the Titans star running back, though there has been no confirmation over any potential trade.

Yet while this deal is still in the ideas phase, it seems at least one Philly player is in support.

Star wide receiver A..J Brown didn’t hide his stance on the possibility of adding Henry to the mix, taking to Twitter to express his support over the move.

“Nobody has #22. Make it happen if it’s possible,” wrote Brown on Twitter.

If Henry does end up making the move to Philadelphia, Brown made clear that his same No. 22 jersey is already vacant.

The Eagles parted ways with running back Miles Sanders this offseason, as the free agent signed with the Panthers. Heading into the 2023 NFL season, Philly’s own free agency signing, Rashaad Penny, figures to be the Eagles’ lead running back.

Behind Penny is the tandem of Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott, both of whom played roles in the team’s run to the Super Bowl this past year.

Still, adding Henry would present quite the formidable backfield, and Brown is clearly on board with the idea of bringing in the three-time Pro Bowler.

Last season in Tennessee, Henry racked up 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns. It was his third season overall with 1,500+ rushing yards and the fifth straight campaign in which the 29-year-old recorded double-digit touchdowns.
