Eagles Host Commanders In NFC Championship Game

The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional round. Snow started to come down hard during the game, which helped the Eagles.

Despite the snowy conditions, the Rams kept the game close and had a chance to win at the end, but the Eagles held on to win 28-22. Saquon Bakley ran all over the Rams again, recording 205 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Barkley also caught four passes for 27 receiving yards. Jalen Hurts did not do much through the air. He only had 128 passing yards but he added 70 rushing yards and a rushing TD. Hurts got banged up during the game and had a brace on his left knee.

The Eagles’ defense was stout once again. They sacked Stafford five times and caused Stafford and Kyren Williams to each lose a fumble. With 1:14 left in the fourth quarter, the Rams had the ball on the Philly 13 down six. It was 3rd and 2 and Jalen Carter recorded a massive nine-yard sack to make it fourth and long. LA could not convert the fourth down play and the Eagles held on to win the game.

Now, the Eagles will face the Commanders for the third time this year in the NFC Championship game.

Eagles Face Commanders In NFC Championship Game

The first time these two teams faced off was in week 11 when the Eagles defeated the Commanders 26-18 at home. Saquon Barkley went off for 146 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Jayden Daniels struggled in the game, recording 191 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and one interception. He was sacked three times and held to only 18 rushing yards.

In the second contest between the Eagles and Commanders, the Commanders dramatically defeated the Eagles 36-33 in Washington in week 16. Barkley once again went off, recording 150 rushing yards and two rushing TDs. However, he was outshined by Jayden Daniels in the contest. Daniels had 258 passing yards, five passing TDs, two interceptions, and 81 rushing yards. The Eagles were up 33-28 but with less than 10 seconds left in the game, Daniels threw a TD pass to Jamison Crowder, followed by a two-point conversion by Jeremy McNichols to win the game 36-33.

Both games were tight, and Barkley went off against the Commanders. Philly will need Barkley once again to go off against a soaring Commanders team led by rookie sensation Jayden Daniels.

The NFC Championship game will be another thriller between the Commanders and Eagles.
