The Eagles' proclivity for acquiring Georgia players—specifically members of the Bulldogs’ historic 2021 defense—has dominated NFL news for two draft cycles now.
In 2022, Philadelphia added defensive lineman Jordan Davis and linebacker Nakobe Dean. In 2023, the Eagles took defensive lineman Jalen Carter, linebacker Nolan Smith, and defensive back Kelee Ringo.
As if Georgia saturation on one side of the ball wasn't enough, Philadelphia traded for Lions running back D'Andre Swift, another former Bulldog, on Saturday afternoon as well.
Many were quick to point out the inherent irony in the Eagles' Georgia-centric actions: Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida.
Talking with ESPN's Rece Davis on the draft telecast Saturday afternoon, Roseman had fun with his affinity for Bulldogs.
"I'm sure I'm out of the Florida alumni association as we speak," Roseman said.

Indeed, unfortunately for Roseman, the vaunted '21 Georgia defense rolled over Florida 34–7 in Jacksonville. The Bulldogs followed that up with an 42–20 win in ’22.
