The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in an almost improbable fashion on Sunday in the Superdome en route to winning Super Bowl 59,
The final score was 40-22. It wasn’t that close.
Philadelphia scored the game’s first 34 points. It sacked Patrick Mahomes six times. and intercepted two passes, one that Cooper DeJean returned 38 yards for a touchdown in the first half.

The two-time Super Bowl champs had one first down in the first half. They were outgained 179-23. It was as thorough a beating as any team had inflicted on another in the Super Bowl in many years.
The Eagles won 15 of their last 16 games, including the postseason. The lone loss was to Washingin in a game Jalen Hurts was injured and it took a touchdown with six seconds left for the Commanders to down Philly in that game.

This is a team that replaced both is coordinators after last season, bringing in Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio. They were huge contributors to the Super Bowl 59 victory.
Super Bowl 59 MVP Hurts threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for 72 and another scoring, leading Philly on the ground. Saquon Barkley had 25 carries for 57 yards as Steve Spagnuolo’s defense was able to shut him down.
Otherwise, it was all Philly. How thorough was the domination? Try this fact: The Chiefs’ three touchdown drives — two in the final three minutes — accounted for 215 yards. In the rest of the game, the Patrick Mahomes-led offense went for 60 yards.
Another interesting stats on the Eagles’ side is DeVonta Smith caught a TD pass of 46 yards in the second quarter. He becomes the first player drafted out of Alabama to score a Super Bowl touchdown.
