The Eagles also signed cornerback Josiah Scott and wide receiver Cam Sims to the Practice Squad, and released wide receiver Greg Ward from the Practice Squad.
Signed Ben VanSumeren to the active roster
The undrafted free agent is out of practice squad elevations after seeing action in the past three games. Over that span, VanSumeren played 62 snaps, all on special teams.
The 23-year-old spent most of the season on the practice squad after leading the NFL with 26 tackles in the preseason.
Signed Josiah Scott to the practice squad
The Eagles are adding Scott to the practice squad after waiving him from the active roster two days ago.
The cornerback played four games this season, but was inactive last Sunday for the win over the Bills.
Scott registered one solo tackle on 17 defensive snaps.
The former Jacksonville Jaguars’ fourth-round draft pick played 29 games on the Eagles’ active roster, making four starts in his first stint with the team. He registered 38 tackles, eight pass deflections, two interceptions, and one sack.
Signed Cam Sims to the practice squad
Sims representatives announced his signing to the Eagles practice squad.
Sims has played in 55 games (17 starts) all with the Washington Commanders. He has recorded 57 receptions for 804 yards and three touchdowns in his six-year career.
Released Greg Ward from the practice squad
Ward has been with the organization since 2017, winning Super Bowl LII as a member of the practice squad.
In 40 career games (13 starts), the former Houston Cougars quarterback registered 88 receptions for 768 yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2020, Ward led the team in receptions (53) and receiving touchdowns (6).
