Eagles 2023 schedule: Non-division games to watch this season

Now that the Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster was finalized minutes before the Tuesday afternoon deadline, there are a few games the team will play this season that are going to be exciting.

The NFC East is up for grabs as Philadelphia attempts to be repeat champions since they accomplished that about 20 years ago, but I have my eye on a few non-division games.

Eagles-Jets

I’m very intrigued by this Eagles-Jets game because both teams are almost the same. They have a mix of young guys and veterans I’m very intrigued by this Eagles-Jets game because both teams are almost the same. They have a mix of young guys and veterans who drastically improved their teams in a short time. It’s also going to be exciting to watch the quarterback battle between Aaron Rodgers and Jalen Hurts, let alone the other matchups on offense and defense with DeVonta Smith and Sauce Gardner.

The Eagles will face off on the road against the New York Jets on October 15 at 4:25 p.m. EST.

Eagles-Chiefs

It’s probably a given that this Super Bowl rematch is on everyone’s radar. Both teams look a little different, so it’s going to be interesting to see how things play out with a different Eagles offense – especially one where the defensive scheming will be prepared instead of a coach preparing for a job interview. We have more Georgia defensive guys on the team like Nolan Smith and Jalen Carter so it might be a different outcome in the Super Bowl had they been able to draft earlier.

The Eagles will face off on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs on November 20 in primetime at 8:15 p.m. EST.

Eagles-49ers

Just as much as fans are ready to see the Super Bowl rematch, I think they’re equally ready for the NFC Championship. The 49ers really feel like they have unfinished business from the Championship, and though a regular season isn’t going to mean much, it could mean a potential tiebreaker between two of the most dominant teams in the NFC. I’m really surprised this game isn’t a primetime game and wouldn’t be surprised if it got flexed as such if both teams somehow became neck and neck towards the end of the season.

The Eagles will face the San Francisco 49ers at home on December 3 at 4:25 p.m. EST.

Eagles-Cardinals

Personally, I’m very excited for this matchup. I’m happy Carter wasn’t a part of the Gannon Era defense. I’m ready to see the Eagles get one last bit of revenge against their former defensive coordinator who didn’t put the team in any position to win the game over his own personal greed. Should the Eagles be in a good position (or at least a better position than the Cardinals) I don’t think it’s inappropriate to sit some of the veterans towards the end of the game if things go well.

The Eagles face off at home against the Arizona Cardinals on New Year’s Eve at 1:00 p.m. EST.
