Eagle-eyed ITV Love Island fans spot 'memory' of Jacques as they fume at Paige

Love Island fans think they have spotted a homage to Jacques O'Neill in the latest episode as former partner Paige Thorne headed out on an epic date with her new man. The former rugby star quit the ITV2 dating show earlier this month in emotional scenes.

He appeared to have found what he was looking for in Mallorca when he coupled up with Paige Thorne. However, the return of Casa Amor threw a spanner in the works and Jacques decided to explore if his feelings for the Welsh paramedic were genuine - by getting to know a couple of the new girls before kissing Cheyanne Kerr.

While the 'Stick or Twist' recoupling saw them stay as a couple, Paige was soon informed about what had happened while she was away in a second villa. He then tried to make amends with Paige and just as they started to reconnect, 2018 Love Island star Adam Collard made a dramatic return as a bombshell contestant.

Prior to making a decision on his time in the villa, Jacques was told Adam had been 'slagging him off' and the next day he couldn't hold back the tears as he told Paige he was leaving to "get back to himself" but that he'd wait for her. However, since the 23-year-old has left, Paige has coupled up with Adam and the pair have been inseparable since.

During Thursday night's edition of Love Island (July 28) viewers watched as Adam and Paige were the first to head out on their final date. After getting a text, the pair got ready before leaving the villa and set sail aboard a luxury boat.

During their time alone the couple discussed their feelings for each other and looked ahead to their lives outside the villa. Adam told his partner: "I tried to play it cool, it didn’t work out at all. It lasted 24 hours, if that." As Paige admitted to still trying to 'act cool' they both agreed it was time to drop the bravado as she said: "We’re both done playing it cool?"

Adam added: "I’m excited for you to meet the fam. I actually know they’ll love you so much. Family is a big part of me. I know what they’d feel about you anyway." Paige replied: "I feel the same about my parents. They’ll be rooting for you for sure."

But fans were left fuming with Paige, 24, over a comment she made hinting at her former couple in the villa. She told Adam during their sun-soaked boat trip: "Obviously, my journey started off a little bit different. But since you’ve come in I’ve been non-stop smiling. Even if everyone was still in the villa, it would be you out of them all, that I can see a potential future with for sure."

She added: "And I’ve just honestly enjoyed every second, " to which Adam replied: "It just feels so normal, so natural." But Love Island viewers were soon flocking to social media to comment. @ramdel24 tweeted: "I think paige has completely forgotten jacques exists #LoveIsland."

@x_FaithL_x said: "Paige Wtf you was crying your eyes out when Jacques left #LoveIsland." @sparklesang wrote: "The way paige literally pretends jacques never existed is acc kinda mad #LoveIsland." @Rainie_Daes added: "Not Paige literally saying she’d pick Adam over Jacques. Boy better not be at that airport #LoveIsland."

But they also spotted another moment that got them thinking about Jacques. As Paige finished getting ready handmade her way down to Adam who was waiting at the door with their fellow islanders, eagel-eyed were quick to see an issue with her dress. The brunette beauty was wearing a blue bodycon number for her date.

@priyaffs tweeted: "Ermmmm was that a SWEAT PATCH ON PAIGES BUM #loveisland." @HanahVioletax commented: "How’s Paige wearing a bl**dy bodycon dress in 20 odd degree heat though #LoveIsland." And @tafadzwahhh added: "Did they intentionally show the stain on Paige’s dress in memory of Jacques #LoveIsland," referring to when Jacques suffered his own boxers blunder earlier in the series.
