EA Sports PGA Tour delayed to spring 2023

The release date for EA Sports PGA Tour isn’t coming until at least spring 2023, a full year after its original launch window.

EA Sports PGA Tour was initially coming out sometime this spring, but that’s no longer the case. On Monday, EA announced that the game won’t release until 2023’s spring season. The company gave no explanation for the delay, which is slightly odd for launch date shifts this significant. The timeframe aligns with next year’s PGA Masters tournament, so there’s some logic behind it.

There’s not been an entry in EA’s PGA Tour series since Rory Mcllroy PGA Tour in 2015. Cam Weber, EVP and GM at EA Sports, is promising the moon with this revival.

“There are few things in sports that match the thrill of winning a major championship, and we’re excited to bring all four majors – the Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, U.S. Open Championship, and The Open Championship – and a true next-gen championship golf experience to fans next year,” Weber said in a press release. “Through our PGA TOUR and LPGA partnerships, all-new PGA TOUR athlete tracking integration, and events like THE PLAYERS Championship and FedExCup Playoffs, players will be able to get an all-access pass to pro championship golf like never before.”

It’s still unknown which platforms EA Sports PGA Tour will release on.
