EA FC 24 reveal trailer released – mixed teams hint, cut scenes and first gameplay

EA Sports has released the official announcement trailer for its new game EA FC 24, and it hints that we'll get mixed men's and women's teams in the new game.

The hype surrounding EA FC 24 has peaked today, with EA Sports revealing the official announcement trailer for the first game in the EA Sports FC game series, the same day as they revealed the official EA FC 24 Ultimate Edition cover. 31 players feature on the Ultimate Edition cover of the new game, with Manchester City's Erling Haaland front and centre.

EA FC 24 is the first instalment in EA's newest football game series, EA Sports FC, and based on the Ultimate Edition cover and the announcement trailer, the new game could be ground-breaking. Not only does it look like a huge increase in the inclusion of women's football, but the trailer seems to reveal that you can use both men's and women's players on the same team in EA FC 24.

This would be the first time this has happened in any of EA's footballing titles, as the publisher looks ahead to the future following their high-profile divorce from FIFA last year.

EA FC 24 official trailer

In past announcement trailers for FIFA titles, we often see barely any of the new game itself, with EA often including lots of footage of footballers in real life. But, the EA FC 24 announcement trailer was captured entirely in EA SPORTS' Frostbite Engine, showing off the impressive technology used to fuel EA FC 24.

Narrated by British actor Daniel Kaluuya, the trailer shows a collection of footballers, both men and women of past and present walking around and interacting in a stadium changing room. The movement of the players looked extremely realistic, with the footage used showing how cut scenes could potentially be used heavily in EA FC 24.

Scenes were included in changing rooms that included Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola giving a team talk, a tunnel cut scene that showed different players talking to each other and even a cut scene of players in what looked to be a gym. We also saw Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister posing for photos whilst holding a Liverpool kit, which looks likely to be a cut scene in Career Mode.

David Beckham was shown wearing what seemed to be an ICONs kit with a 'UT' badge, potentially showing that Ultimate Team may no longer be abbreviated as FUT. A small clip of gameplay was displayed as Real Madrid took on Manchester City with Vinicius Junior scoring a screamer, but it was the ending that caught the eye.

Both men's and women's players walked out of the tunnel and onto the pitch together, hinting towards the ability to use both men's and women's players on the same team in EA FC 24. The Ultimate Edition cover hinted at this with the mixture of men's and women's stars, and if true, it could be a fantastic move from EA to improve team customisation in the new game.
