Married At First Sight fans couldn't believe what they were saying as the latest dinner party descended into chaos. Viewers had been preparing for a 'cheating' scandal to rock the E4 dating experiment and after weeks of predictions, they finally saw the start of the drama unfold during Tuesday night's episode (September 27).
The latest scenes saw Matt Murray and Whitney Hughes officially pursue a romance despite being paired with and getting married to other people. Matt and wife Gemma Rose were late comers into the series and despite sparks flying on their wedding day, the pair haven't appeared to get on since.
Meanwhile, during last week's commitment ceremony Whitney shared her wish to leave the experiment after weeks of trying to bond with her husband Duka Cav.

But during a mini break which saw the couples head out of their apartments and into the countryside, Whitney and Matt had a heart-to-heart with Whitney later going shy as she commented on their "cute" vibe. As suspicions about their closeness rippled through the group, the truth didn't come out until the dinner party.
As Duka got upset over Thomas Hartley, Matt tried to comfort him and it was then that Kwame Badu who remarked: "The irony to be consoled by the man who has taken his woman!" As eyes widened around the table, he added: "Let's just get it out in the open, there's been pure whispers!"
Gemma was instantly upset despite talking about her "gut instinct" telling her something wasn't right. As she asked if everyone knew, her co-stars tried to wriggle out of the uncomfortable confrontation while Kwame was honest and said they did know. Matt then took Gemma outside to talk.
"Right, so, serious chat... you know full well that we aren't right for each other," he said. "Since we've been here, something's brewing between me and Whitney. There's been a lot of eye contact. I actually do care about you and I actually do want you to be happy, so I'm not doing this to hurt you. There's nothing happened between me and Whitney, no, but it is something I want to explore."
Gemma was devastated and hit back at Matt, claiming he "never tried" with their marriage and "never gave her a chance". But things didn't end well as she stormed off shouting: "F**k off!" The row then spilled onto the dinner table leading to Matt storming off.
Later, Whitney and Matt were alone and shared a passionate kiss, which then resulted in them spending the night together. The next morning, as they were lying in bed, Matt said to Whitney: "There's absolutely no way on this planet I could have not have not torn your clothes off!"
And MAFS viewers were flocking to social media as they tried to digest the episode. @snation85 tweeted: "No words for this programme tonight. Pure chaos #MAFSUK." @hannahleewrites posted: "This Married At First Sight UK episode is one of the most chaotic, messy pieces of British television I have ever watched…it’s perfect x #MAFSUK." @Alex05923602 echoed: "I honestly think this episode of mafsuk is the most dramatic episode of any reality tv show in the past 5 years #MAFSUK."
Meanwhile, Gemma took to Instagram to gush over a former Married At First Sight UK groom who she has formed a strong friendship with. She posted a photo of her and Matt on the experts sofa followed by one of her cosying up to Bob Voysey, who also find himself at the centre of a 'cheating' scandal during last year's series.
"SWIPE FOR … How a man should make you feel… @bob_voysey you’ve been there for me since the day I left. The best friend I could ask for," Gemma gushed as fans rushed to tell her what a great couple they would make. @myfamily_and_ouradventures said: "Oh my goodness u and Bob would make the best couple ever!!!
@mrswellerx replied: "You guys. So so sweet." @slduggan92x wrote: "Perfect couple I reckon bob and gem." @wss640 typed: "So sorry you had such a bad experience, but look at you and Bob eh." @janesam77 posted: "You two make the most gorgeous looking couple, friends or otherwise." @secretgardenbeautyweymouth added: "I love this so much! Both obviously have such beautiful hearts and both have a great sense of humour! Neither of you deserved your awful matches either! You look fantastic together!"
