E-scooter rider in hospital with 'life-threatening' injuries after crash with HGV

A MAN has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash involving an e-scooter and a heavy goods vehicle in Glasgow.

Officers were called to Paisley Road West around 11am on Friday following reports of a crash involving an HGV and an e-scooter between the junctions of Corkerhill Road and Dunellan Street.

The 54-year-old rider of the e-scooter has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

It has been reported the police have said medical staff have described his injuries as “life-threatening.”

The road was closed for around four hours to allow enquiries to be carried out.

Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “This collision occurred on a busy road in the middle of the day, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“If you have any relevant dashcam footage or private CCTV that could assist our investigation or saw an e-scooter in the area prior to the crash, please contact us.”
