E-bike rider filmed pulling wheelies between traffic on Nottingham A52

An electric bike rider has been filmed pulling wheelies whilst manoeuvring between traffic on the A52 in Nottingham. In footage uploaded to social media, the rider can be seen putting their knee onto the seat of the bike and lifting up the front wheel whilst travelling on Clifton Boulevard at around 7pm on Wednesday, June 28.

They then perform an overtake of a car, which is travelling close to a car in the neighbouring lane on the three-lane carriageway - all whilst still performing the wheelie. The incident was not reported to Nottinghamshire Police.

Ian Taylor, a director at Alliance of British Drivers, said: "You could take a generous point of view if they were on a deserted road but to do it in traffic on a main road. This is another example of a cyclist indulging their own whims without regarding safety.

"Despite the video it would seem that the perpetrator has gotten away with it. This strengthens the case for making cyclists more identifiable.

"I'm not condemning cyclists, it is an example of a minority. Roads are a shared resource and everyone must respect each other and do their best to keep each other safe."
