Dyson announces 900 new jobs in Bristol and Wiltshire in one largest ever recruitment drives

Dyson has revealed plans to launch 900 new UK jobs based in Bristol and Wiltshire in one of the company's largest ever recruitment drives.

The company now wants to recruit at what it calls its 'key locations', including campuses at Malmesbury and Hullavington Airfield in Wiltshire, as well as Bristol city centre. New jobs in the south west are part of Dyson's largest ever recruitment drive, with a £600 million cash injection into technology and laboratories planned for the year ahead.

The call for new engineers and digital specialists comes after Dyson made a £1.5bn profit in 2021. Its annual revenue was up 5 per cent last year, rising to £6 billion worldwide.

James Dyson, founder and chief engineer, said: "We like looking at problems in the wrong way and pioneering our own solutions. As a result, we are succeeding and growing. But to continue this exciting journey we need the best and brightest engineers and digital experts to join us."

The company says it currently employs 3,250 engineers and scientists worldwide, half of which are based in the UK. Dyson's Bristol base is currently situated in College Green with space for up to 300 people.

Dyson says it has sold more than 70 million cord-free machines around the world, and 20 million haircare products. Their products were made in Wiltshire until 2002 when the firm switched vacuum cleaner production to Malaysia.

They've seen huge growth by expanding into different markets including hairdryers, fans and lighting.
