Dylan Reid set for post Celtic talks loan as St Mirren prospect wanted for Lowland League loan

St Mirren talent Dylan Reid could be making the move to the Lowland League after the plug was pulled on Celtic transfer talks.

The sought-after teenager was linked with a more to the Scottish Premiership champions throughout the summer, but Reid opted to remain with Stephen Robinson's side and fight for his first-team place amid late interest from Parkhead. However, having struggled to get game time in the early parts of the campaign Lowland League contenders East Kilbride have launched an ambitious bid to land the midfielder on loan as they look to bag promotion to League Two at the end of the campaign.

The 17-year-old was initially in talks with the Hoops earlier in the summer with both clubs continuing talks throughout the window over the Scotland youth international. It certainly wasn't plain sailing though, with discussions halting at one stage before a late move on deadline day failed to materialise after late talks.

But now he could be spending a large part of the campaign with Kilby in a bid to secure consistent first team minutes. Boss Kevin Rutkiewicz is keen to bring the teen to K-Park in a bid to boost his squad.

The side sit second to Rangers B in the table as things stand, with just goal difference separating the top two. St Mirren chief executive Keith Lasley has been keen to see Reid continue his progress in Paisley, stating: "Dylan is one of a number of young players who have come through at the club that we want to keep and develop."
