Hibs are leading the chase for Dundee United star Dylan Levitt.
The Easter Road side are keen on the Welsh internationalist but have yet to agree a fee with Dundee United. They, however, face competition from English League One side Wigan Athletic and potential interest from Portugal. The Tangerines had initially valued the playmaker at £500,000 but they know in the current market they are unlikely to get that.
Levitt has held talks with the United hierarchy and is hoping that they will lower their expectations. The issue for the Tannadice club is they also have to pay a percentage of any fee to Manchester United, as part of his initial transfer. It remains to be seen if any of the clubs can agree on a fee. The 22-year-old is keen to play at the highest level he can and is now in the final year of his contract.
United boss Jim Goodwin has already seen former Hibs striker Steven Fletcher and Arnaud Djoum terminate their contracts, while Australian international Aziz Behich is also likely to leave. Goodwin is looking to see what he is left with so he can build his own squad that is capable of getting back out of the Championship at the first time of asking.
Hearts boss Stevie Naismith is also a fan of Levitt and is monitoring the situation closely.
