Dylan Levitt shares Wales World Cup delight as Dundee United star realises 'childhood dream' with Qatar selection

Dylan Levitt has named his inclusion in Wales' World Cup squad for the tournament in Qatar this month as 'the best news he has had in football'.

Wales-born Levitt joined Manchester United's youth academy as an eight-year-old, and shone at Old Trafford as one of the stars of the young Red Devils before making the switch to Dundee United on a loan move last season. Five goals and one assist in the Scottish Premiership saw Jack Ross make his time in eastern Scotland permanent, though things have not gone to plan for the Tangerines since.

Nonetheless, Levitt has continued to earn Wales call-ups; and was a part of their Euro 2020 journey last summer where they crashed out to Denmark in the last-16. And, after more time under Rob Page's watchful eye, the midfielder has been selected again for Qatar - with the starlet calling the call-up the 'best moment in his career so far'.

He said: "Yeah, it's amazing. I think it's my childhood dream. From a young age, watching Wales and watching World Cups in general, I've always dreamt about it, and being called up for your nation for a major tournament there's nothing better than that.

"I'm proud, very proud for me and my family as well. I'm over the moon really. It's probably the best news I've had in football.

"For the nation it's massive to be involved in a World Cup and because it's been so long, I think it's just an amazing feeling for the nation in general and it's something we're very much looking forward too.

"Like I say. we've made history making it back to the World Cup for such a small nation - and every one of the players and staff deserve it."
