DX launches new logistics depot in Black Country

Courier and logistics firm DX has opened a new depot in the Black Country. The company has launched the new site in West Bromwich to support the growth of its freight division which provides services to both business and residential customers.

The operation in Greets Green Road will create 55 new jobs while a second site has also been launched in Scotland.

The 37,000 sq ft plant is housed on a 1.3-acre site and will support the group's operation in Cannock which has also secured significant new business.

These two additional sites take the total number of depots DX has opened so far in 2022 to five, with further launches in the pipeline as well as major upgrades to its existing portfolio of sites.

They form part of the company's previously announced investment worth up to £25 million to expand its network which includes investing in its vehicle fleet, handheld technology and IT systems.

Paul Ibbetson, managing director of DX Freight, said: "We are pleased to have opened two new DX Freight depots in Paisley and West Bromwich, taking the total number opened in 2022 to five. The sites boost capacity and enhance service levels in their respective regions.

"We plan further site openings as well as major upgrades to existing sites as we scale our delivery network to support the group's ongoing growth."
