Julianne Hough is "ready" to date again.
The 36-year-old dancer - who shot to fame as a professional on ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2007 before become a judge and then a host - split from ice hockey player Brooks Laich in 2022 after five years of marriage and is now "open" to the idea of finding love again, but is mostly focused on her television career.
She told People: "Honestly, I am just keeping my heart open and kind of just letting the seasons flow and I'm focusing on 'Dancing with the Stars'. But my heart is open, I'm ready for it, but I'm not actively looking for anything."
The 'Grease Live!' star noted that romance is never a goal for her as such, and she just thinks of dating as "part" of her life rather than the whole thing.
She said: "For me, I just feel like it's just part of my life. It's not like it's ever a destination. It's just always going to be a part of my life. I really enjoy going on retreats and connecting and it's just a part of my
Prior to her marriage to Brooks, Julianne had a three-year relationship with Ryan Seacrest and recently noted that because they had met during her rise to stardom, she ended up feeling "insecure" as she worried that others might think that she was only dating him for the fame.
Speaking on the 'Armchair Expert' podcast, she told host Dax Shephard: "The rug was swept up from underneath me, and I was just flying, and I was experiencing things that I didn't even know existed. But then I had this insecurity that I was like, I don't ever want anybody to think that I'm with him for this reason."
