The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is urging some benefit claimants to get in touch amid changes to payments this month.
DWP benefits and pension payments usually land in bank, building society or credit union accounts, on a regular basis such as once a month, every four weeks, or fortnightly, depending which benefit(s) you claim.
But many people will see their cash arrive early today (Friday) if it would have been due to be paid on Monday, May 29.

This is because payment dates move if there is a bank holiday. Monday is the third bank holiday in May, and on nationally recognised bank holidays when offices are closed, payments are made on the first working day prior to the affected date.
The DWP took to Twitter on Friday to share some information regarding the early payments, and has asked people to "contact us straight away" if they experience any issues.
The tweet said: "Information for claimants already receiving payments: If you are due to be paid on 29 May, you will be paid on 26 May. Please contact us straight away if there is a problem with your payment."

While money arriving earlier may seem like a good thing, payment dates will revert to normal in June, meaning some people may have to budget accordingly.
