DWP stops £301 Cost of Living Payment ahead of Bank Holiday weekend

People who are due to get a Cost of Living Payment worth £301 have been told they will not receive one for a few days. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) tweeted that 4.8million households have had the cash boost sent to them in April.

However, in a series of tweets, the DWP confirmed payments will not be made over the next few days. But it has advised anyone still waiting for their payment to not worry, as it will be coming.

The tweets explained that the payments will continue to be made up until May 17 for those who are due to receive it. Ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend, the payments will be paused.

The DWP said the next date payments will be made on will be May 2. It added 1.6million households received their £301 payment today (April 27).

In its tweets, the DWP said: "1.6 million more households received a £301 Cost of Living Payment today. 4.8 million households have already received the cash boost this month to help with rising costs.

"If you’ve not received yours, don’t worry - payments will continue to be made up to 17 May. The next set of payments will be made on Tuesday 2 May, and we will update again when these have been made."
