DWP State Pension claimants can access £3,500 boost through new form

People of State Pension age are being encouraged by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to check if they qualify for an annual £3,500 boost.

The DWP have launched a new interactive claim form for Pension Credit which can be completed online, downloaded and sent off to the Pension Service, reports Somerset Live.

This new form could help those who are unable to claim the cash online or over the phone.

Another cool tip is that the form can be saved and completed at a later time. In a letter that will sent to pensioners UK-wide in the new year, the DWP will inform people of the uprating of State Pension payments.

The DWP will also include more information about Pension Credit. This news comes amid an ongoing awareness campaign to urge more people to apply for extra help if they need it.

If a Pension Credit claim is successful, it allows people to claim other financial support and get more help. This includes Council Tax reductions, help with housing and mortgage payments, discounted NHS treatments and free TV Licences for the over-75s.

Approximately £1.7 billion is being left unclaimed by around 850,000 State Pensioners UK wide, according to the DWP. Read on below for everything you need to know about the money available.
