The £150 Cost of Living Payment will start being paid into the accounts of disabled people from today.
Around six million people in the UK are eligible for the £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment. To qualify, claimants must have been registered for disability benefits like Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment on May 25, 2022.
The DWP says people claiming disability benefits can expect the £150 payment between today (Tuesday September 20, 2022) and the start of October. The money will be sent to accounts automatically.

"The payment will help disabled people with the rising Cost of Living acknowledging the higher disability-related costs they often face, such as care and mobility needs," says the DWP.
Disabled people on low-income benefits will also be paid the £650 Cost of Living Payment, half of which has already been paid. A second instalment is due at some point in the autumn but the DWP has yet to give a final date.
The DWP says those who had confirmed payment of their disability benefit for May 25 will likely be paid first, adding: "For those awaiting confirmation of their disability benefits on 25 May, or who are waiting to be assessed for eligibility to receive disability benefits, the process may take longer but payments will still be automatic."
People receiving the following benefits are eligible for the payment: Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Scottish Disability Benefits (Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment), Armed Forces Independence Payment, Constant Attendance Allowance and War Pension Mobility Supplement.
