DWP sets timeline for second Cost of Living payment for tax credit claimants

Hundreds of people around the UK have received the first instalments of the cost of living payments.

While many started to get payments earlier this summer to help with the rising cost of living, those who claim tax credits only got their this September. This comes as the UK Government launched the scheme to give the most vulnerable up to £600.

A total of 1,1 million families claiming tax credits started to receive the first £326 cost of living payment as the Government said the first payment was paid into people's bank accounts between September 2 and 7.

According to the Government, specific dates will be announced closer to the time as winter officially runs from December 21 until March 20.
