DWP: July benefit and cost-of-living payment dates

Those receiving certain DWP benefits will have a few dates for their diary next month. July sees a number of key dates for cost-of-living payments and benefits, while the Department for Work & Pensions has already issued a number of payments for 2023, including a £301 cost of living payment which was sent out between the months of April and May.

There have been a more significant change to benefit payment dates this year, due to an unusual amount of bank holidays - two of these coincided with Easter back in April and three more in May were due, in part, to the coronation of King Charles III. Millions of people received their payments earlier than usual as benefits needed to be processed before the bank holiday dates.

And now Wales Online reports that people are being advised that there are a few key dates they'll need to be aware of in July when it comes to their money. Here's all you need to know...

£150 cost of living payment

Last week saw the beginnings of the £150 cost of living payments being paid out to recipients. More than six million people across the UK are expected to begin receiving this payout, which is being given to those who claim certain disability benefits.

The full list of benefit recipients that qualify for the payment are those who receive:

  • Disability living allowance
  • Personal independence payment
  • Attendance allowance
  • Armed Forces independence payment
  • Constant attendance allowance
  • War pension mobility supplement

Most of the payments will be processed between Tuesday, June 20 and Tuesday, July 4, meaning some people will have already started to see the money land in their accounts.

Changes to benefit dates

There are no bank holidays in July so any benefits or pension payments due should arrive on their usual date. The day your pension is paid depends on the last two digits of your National Insurance number as follows:

00 to 19 (Monday)

20 to 39 (Tuesday)

40 to 59 (Wednesday)

60 to 79 (Thursday)

80 to 99 (Friday)
