DWP issues update over missing £150 cost of living payments

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued an update for people with missing cost of living payments. Around six million people on disability benefits such as PIP and attendance allowance received £150 to help with rising costs of living from September 20.

The DWP admitted the death of the Queen and the resulting bank holiday had caused a delay after thousands of people complained that they had not received the money but said in early October that vast majority of payments had been processed.

But earlier this week MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis said he was aware of people all over the UK who were yet to receive their payment and that he had raised the issue with the DWP. To get all the latest money-saving news straight to your inbox twice a week sign up here.

The DWP has now issued an update for those with missing payments on when they'll have their money processed, as well as offering info on how to report a missing payment. A department spokesperson said: "The vast majority of the six million people who were eligible for the disability cost of living payment were paid by the end of September.

“We have continued to manually process payments where the automatic payment bounced back or was not processed, which could be for a number of reasons. These people make up a tiny fraction of overall cases and will be paid as soon as possible.

"People who believe they are eligible and haven’t received the payment yet can complete the missing payment form on GOV.UK. People who aren’t eligible will have this confirmed to them via a letter following the completion and processing of the missing payment form.

“Those people who are subsequently deemed to be eligible for the disability cost of living payment will receive a letter confirming eligibility and be paid in due course."

If you haven't received the payment yet you can report it missing here. You will need your National Insurance number to use the service. The £150 is a one-off payment so you should only use this link if you have not received it even if you have more than one disability benefit. You will not receive multiple payments.
