The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued an update after temporarily halting Cost of Living payments.
It comes after the government department announced that 4.8 million households already received the extra cash to help tackle the cost of living crisis. Around 1.6 million sums of the £301 payment were issued on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday so far.
More than eight million households will receive the money.
However, none will be paid over the next few days but the DWP stressed that people eligible for the payment will still receive it.

Writing on Twitter, it said: "The next set of payments will be made on Tuesday, May 2, and we will update again when these have been made." It added: "If you’ve not received yours, don’t worry - payments will continue to be made up to May 17."
While it has not yet been made clear why the delay was implemented, it has been speculated that the upcoming bank holiday weekend is the main factor. The department previously stated that all payment for DWP claimants should be made by Wednesday, May 17.
The Cost of Living Payment will be made available to those who are receiving payments from means-tested benefits such as: Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, and Universal Credit. Claimants must also have received a payment from one of the qualifying benefits during the qualifying period - between January 26, 2023 and February 25, 2023.
Another payment of £300 will arrive in the autumn, while a third and final payment of £299 will be paid during spring 2024.
