The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will deliver its latest round of cost of living support from next month.
People on certain benefits or tax credits can get extra cash to help with the cost of living crisis. If you’re eligible, you’ll be paid automatically in the same way you usually get your benefit or tax credits.
The DWP confirmed more than eight million low income households across the UK will receive the £650 in financial aid to help with mounting costs as the price of energy, food and petrol skyrocket. The payment will be split into two instalments as eligible claimants should have received now £326.

The remaining £324 is due to land in bank accounts from November 8. You should receive the payments if you're in receipt of any of the following:
- Universal Credit
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support
- Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit
Anyone who is eligible for the cost of living payment will receive the money automatically and does not need to apply.
If you are receiving Tax Credits and qualify for the cost of living payment, you will receive the payment later than everyone else. According to the DWP: "Payments from HMRC for those on tax credits only will follow shortly after each to avoid duplicate payments."
