DWP: Easter and Bank Holiday payment dates for Universal Credit, PIP and Child Benefit

Easter is just around the corner and, in addition to the eggs, gifts and other celebrations that many households get involved with this time of year, families up and down the country will be trying to manage their money. And for those expecting Universal Credit, PIP and Child Benefit payments, it's worth noting down the upcoming Bank Holiday dates.

Easter this year falls on the following dates - Good Friday (April 7), Easter Sunday (April 9) and Easter Monday (April 10), with the Easter holidays between Monday, April 3 and Friday, April 14, this year. But what does this all mean for benefit payments around Easter?

According to the Government's website, anyone expecting their benefit payments on one of these Easter Bank Holidays will receive them on Thursday, April 6 this year. Here's a full list of the upcoming Bank Holiday payments to be made for 2023.

Benefits are usually paid straight into your bank, building society or credit union account, official Gov.uk information states. If your payment date is on a weekend or a bank holiday, you'll usually be paid the working day before, however this can vary between benefit types so it's worth checking your own.
