The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed when millions of households can expect to receive their £150 disability cost of living payment. Made in addition to the Cost of Living payments, worth up to a total of £900 over a 12 months period, this one-off payment will be made to people claiming certain disability benefits.
More than 6 million people are eligible for the payment, according to the DWP. Some claimants have already received the first of three Cost of Living payment installments, which were made between April 25 and May 17, with a further two payments - worth £300 and £299 - heading into bank accounts in Autumn 2023 and Spring 2024.
The disability Cost of Living payment will fall in between the first and second Cost of Living payment and claimants can expect to see the money between June 20 and July 4. Some may receive their money after this period if currently waiting for a benefit claim to be approved, the Mirror reports.

In order to receive the £150, you need to have been claiming certain means-tested disability benefits on April 1, 2023. The list of qualifying benefits are:
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Attendance Allowance
- Scottish Disability Benefits (Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- War Pension Mobility Supplement
The benefit will be automatically applied, so you don't need to do anything to claim the cash. It is also non-taxable and will not affect any other benefits you are claiming.
Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Mel Stride MP, said: “This payment helps protect those who need our support the most, providing a vital financial boost to six million disabled people. Our multi-billion-pound package of support reinforces our commitment to help UK households with the rising cost of living. It comes on top of record increases to benefits and the national living wage.”
Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, Tom Pursglove MP, said: “We know the cost of living has gone up for disabled people, which is why we are taking action to reduce the financial pressures they face.
“This £150 disability cost of living payment is on top of up to £900 that most low-income benefit claimants will also receive, helping ensure the most vulnerable in our society are protected from rising costs during this challenging period.”
