DWP confirms delays to some £324 Cost of Living payments

Many people in the UK are patiently waiting for the second cost of living payment, however some will have a longer wait than others.

People on certain benefits or tax credits can get a payment to help with the cost of living crisis. If you’re eligible, you’ll be paid automatically in the same way you usually get your benefit or tax credits.

The £650 boost, delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), was split into two payments. The first was £326, and was due to land in bank accounts from September 20.

Earlier this month, the DWP confirmed the payment would be delivered "Between November 8 and November 23 for most people". This, however, did not include people in receipt of Tax Credits.

The Government has now given an update as to when Tax Credit claimants can expect the £324 to land in their bank accounts.

It said: "The second Cost of Living Payment of £324 for people on Tax Credits will be paid between November 23 and November 30, 2022, for most people."

As well as this, all domestic electricity customers will receive a £400 reduction on energy bills over the coming months, and the Energy Price Guarantee is protecting households from significant rises in their energy bills this winter.
