The Department for Work and Pensions has confrmed when the second cost of living payment will hit bank accounts across the country to help families feeling the pressure of rising bills.
Millions of people across the country who are receiving certain benefits or tax credits are eligible for a £650 government payment to help with the cost of living crisis. The amount - which has been split into two lump sums of £326 and £324 - is automatically paid in the same way people would usually receive benefits or tax credits.
The measure was announced by former chancellor Rishi Sunak back in May this year. The first Low Income Cost of Living Payment of £326 was paid from July 14 to claimants who qualified for certain benefits on May 25.

However, there was some uncertainty about the date of the second payment after inaccurate reports that cash would be sent out last Saturday (October 1). Now, the DWP has this evening announced that people can expect to receive their second means-tested payment of £324 between November 8 and 23.
You may be eligible for the cost of living payment if you receive any of the following:
- Universal Credit
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support
- Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit
