The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) is sending out Christmas boost payments to many benefit claimants.
Each year, the Government issues a number of cash boosts worth £10 to those in need during the festive period. This year, the tax-free boost was made from December 5 to December 11, but many people may not have noticed.
There is a certain code to look out for on bank statements to check whether or not the payments has landed in your bank account.

If you were expecting the boost, then check your statement for "DWP XB". Spotting this means you have received the £10 Christmas bonus payments into your bank, reports Birmingham Live.
The DWP is also offering certain households £25 to help as temperature fall.
Struggling pensioners and many other households could qualify for Cold Weather Payments. The £25 payments is made when temperatures in the area drop below zero degrees for seven days in a row. And following the chilly conditions in recent weeks, people across Glasgow could be eligible.
According to the Government, you need to be claiming certain benefits to claim the payment such as Universal Credit, to qualify for the £25 boost. Payments will be made automatically and they normally apply between November 1 and March 31.
