With a cost of living crisis bestowed upon residents across the United Kingdom, many will be keeping a watchful eye on their bank account balance for benefits like Universal Credit, PIP and Tax Credits to drop in.
And with a bank holiday looming in the near future, there's likely to be a change of date that recipients will see their payments.
Monday, 29 August is a bank holiday in England and Wales this year, with a further two set to come later in the year - in the form of Boxing Day and December 27 (which is a BH in lieu of Christmas Day, which falls on a Sunday in 2022).

Wales Online reports that the first bank holiday of 2023 will come on January 2, in lieu of New Year's Day which also falls on a Sunday. And with benefit payments coming either every week, or every month, it's worth noting down some key dates in your diary to keep on top of finances.

If it's a Bank Holiday anywhere in the UK, your payment may be early, the Gov.uk website states. According to their guidance, if your payment is late you should check the payment date on your award notice and contact your bank before you call HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), reports BristolLive.
