DWP announces dates for second £324 cost of living payment for Tax Claimants

The Department of Work and Pensions has announced when Tax Credits claimants will be able to get their second Cost of Living Payment. Those who quality for the payment through Tax Credits only, will get their second instalment later than those who are eligible by claiming low-income benefits.

Claimants who are eligible for the £324 through Tax Credits will be paid between November 23 and November 30, confirmed by the DWP in an update on Thursday, October 20. This payment follows a £326 payment that was made to those eligible in September reports Chronicle Live.

To qualify for the payment, Tax Credit claimants must have registered between August 26 and September 25. Those on low-income benefits, such as Universal Credit, Income Support and Income Related JSA, will be able to get their second payment between November 8 and November 23.

However, some people may get paid later but people should not worry. The DWP stated that: "Your payment might come later, for example if you are awarded a qualifying benefit at a later date or you change the account your benefit or tax credits are paid into. You will still be paid the Cost of Living Payment automatically and do not need to contact DWP or HMRC."
