Indianapolis Colts legendary defensive end Dwight Freeney is scheduled to announce one of the team’s selections during the 2022 NFL draft, the team announced in their draft release Tuesday.
It isn’t entirely clear yet what pick Freeney will be announcing but it’s fair to believe it will come on Day 2 of the draft when the Colts have selections in the second (No. 42) and third rounds (No. 73). We’ll update this post when that information is revealed.
A member of the Colts Ring of Honor, Freeney played 11 seasons (2002-12) with the Colts after being selected by the team with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2002 NFL draft out of Syracuse.
With the Colts, Freeney was a three-time First Team All-Pro and a seven-time Pro Bowler. He was a part of the Colts’ Super Bowl XLI championship team during the 2006 season and appeared in two more Super Bowls, one with the Colts and the other as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.
