Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has been told he made the wrong choice in January and should have joined Arsenal.
Vlahovic left Fiorentina in the January transfer window and opted to stay in the division, despite attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe and most notably the Premier League.
Joining Juventus for £73million, the Serbian star scored on his debut in a 2-0 win but then went on a three-game goal drought before finding the back of the net in his UEFA Champions League debut.
This was followed up by a brace in the Old Lady's next game, a 3-2 win in Serie A.
But since that game, the 22-year-old has once again gone two games without a goal and Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia believes manager Massimiliano Allegri's non-entertaining brand of football is suffocating Vlahovic.
“It remains to be seen whether he will win trophies with Juventus," Bargiggia told 1Station Radio, via Sport Witness. "I will continue to be critical of Allegri. If football is to bring back the new generations, it must entertain the public. If I had been Vlahovic, I would have gone to the Premier League. In the summer, he could have gone to the best teams. Arsenal wanted him.
“Maybe he is happy at Juventus. Yesterday, however, there was an isolated Vlahovic in the Spezia box, while the other 10 were perched in Szczesny’s area. Juventus continue to play badly and it’s a fact.”
Arsenal currently find themselves in fourth position in the Premier League and have three games in hand over fifth-placed Manchester United.
But their striker options next season remain in flux with Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette's contracts expiring at the end of the season.
