Dusan Vlahovic "not happy" as he explains celebration after breaking Champions League record

Dusan Vlahovic has insisted he is "not happy" despite notching his first goal in the Champions League just 32 seconds into his competition debut for Juventus.

Massimiliano Allegri's men made the trip to Spain to take on Villarreal in the first-leg of their last 16 clash and got off to a dream start courtesy of Vlahovic's expertly-taken finish.

The Serbian is now famed for his ability to create a goal out of nothing and that is exactly what he did against the 'Yellow Submarine ', bringing the ball down with his back to goal before swivelling a right-footed effort into the far corner.

Unfortunately for Juventus, a lapse in concentration from much-maligned midfielder Adrien Rabiot allowed Unai Emery's men the chance to equalise and Dani Parejo made no mistake.

Juventus can consider themselves fortunate to end the game with all 11 players still on the pitch after Rabiot luckily avoided a red card despite catching Samu Chukwueze on the knee.

The Frenchman was handed a yellow for his late challenge and nothing more.

Juventus' early goal was met with a noteworthy celebration from Vlahovic, who appeared to mimic a 'talking' gesture with his hands.

The 21-year-old was pressed on whether the gesture was pointed towards the media or his critics, but he was quick to play down such talk.

"I don’t know why people always try to create controversy. I don’t read the papers, I just try to improve every day and keep my feet on the ground," the striker told Mediaset.

"It wasn’t for any critics, it was just a gesture for a member of my family. That is all."

After the game, Vlahovic conceded that while it was a fantastic feeling to score so early on into his Champions League debut, the feeling is overshadowed by the fact Juventus failed to hold on to their lead.

"My dream has come true at Juve, but I am not happy because we didn’t win and we all really wanted the victory today. It didn’t happen, so we move forward."

"I think we did what we had prepared in the locker room, but of course a lot depends on the opponents. We congratulate Villarreal on their performance, we tried to continue the way we started.

"I have personally already forgotten this match, we just have to look forward to the next game."

Vlahovic has two goals in his first five games as a Juventus player and has proved why he had so many suitors last summer.

Arsenal were reportedly desperate to secure the Serbian's signature but the fact the Gunners had no Champions League football meant Vlahovic was hardly tempted.
