Fruit lovers have only six days left to shop for their favourite fruits fresh from farms from across the country during "Amazing Fruit Paradise 2022" which is running at SookSiam of Iconsiam, Charoen Nakhon Road, until Sunday.
Held in collaboration with Horticultural Science Society of Thailand and many associations and networks of Thai orchard farmers, the mega fruit fair and bazaar brings a wide variety of best-in-season fruits particularly durian, hailed as the "king of fruits", mangosteen, aka the queen of fruits, and rambutan.
Highlights are premium, rare and ancient durian varieties such as long lablae from Phetchabun, lin lablae, durian nont gi from Nonthaburi, monthong from Chanthaburi, monthong pha phum and chanee from Kanchanaburi, as well as the ancient cultivar of e-leeb with thin seeds hailed as one of the most delicious durian varieties of Thailand.
Durian lovers can indulge in an all-you-can-eat buffet of monthong durians at 599 baht, and a buffet of premium-grade durians at 999 baht (monthong, chanee, kanyao and long lablae). The buffet is available on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm. To reserve a seat, call 064-646-0302 or add Line: @Sooksiam.
Also expect to see other fruits direct from orchards such as baramee melon, tab tim Siam pomelo, nam dok mai mun mango, gluay nam waa nuan banana, Khao Yai pomelo, and maprao kathi coconut.
There are also fruit products from the most sought-after shops including mango and durian with sweet sticky rice from Baan Kanom Khun Maeo Don Muang, mango with sweet chilli sauce from Mamuang Nam Pla Waan Aor Jao shop, durian ice cream and durian-stuffed croissant by Duriansiam Samyan Café.
Meanwhile, Dear Tummy supermarket on the ground floor is holding the "Fruitful Fest" featuring abundant selections of tropical fruits in different varieties that are the best products of each province, until June 5.
They include sumalee salacca from Trat, Red Lady papaya from in Phangnga, Nam Dok Mai mango and jumbo-sized hom thong banana from Nakhon Ratchasima, and melon (orange flesh) from Pathum Thani.
