Dunnes Stores products urgently recalled over 'serious illness' fears

Multiple popular products sold at Dunnes Stores shops across Ireland have been urgently recalled.

The food products are subject to the "voluntary recall" due to the possible presence of listeria.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland shared the alert on Friday and explained that it follows the withdrawal of some cabbages and carrots by Milnes Foods Ltd.

A number of batches are impacted by the recall, including nine products sold at Dunnes Stores.

Here if the full list of recalled products and batches:

The alert by the FSAI reads: "Following a voluntary withdrawal of some shredded cabbages and carrots by Milnes Foods Ltd., a range of retail products are being recalled due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes in products made with the shredded cabbages and carrots.

"Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated products.

"Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

"In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly.

"The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days."

For further information, the full alert can be found on the FSAI website HERE.
